A place where everyone is smiling! Get on the ferry, hire a bike from the dock and start pedalling the island's 22km coastal ring road. Rottnest Island or the '' Rotto '' the protected nature reserve that sits an easy 40-minute cruise off the coast of Perth. Quick and easy escape!
40 minutes after you board the ferry, this golden beaches destination offers you a whole day of relaxation. So you enjoy surfing, fishing and snorkelling in the marine sanctuary zones, turquoise water? Grab your snorkelling gear! Would you like to dive and see a few baby sharks? Or ride around the island and read a book at one of the beaches?! This place is for you!
Riding a bike around Rotto is so much fun, especially because you get to spot so many animals like quokkas and snakes in the wild. Quokkas - the local small wallaby-like marsupial or "world's happiest animals" welcome you to their home and don't let you travel on your own! Those little creatures are so friendly you will be tempted to get a selfie with them.
Once you get a selfie, get back on the bike and head towards the Wadjemup lighthouse. The sunset's at Rotto are incredible, however don't miss your last ferry!
Love, S.
